Eli didn’t draw first blood, you drew first blood.
I was watching the Raiders vs Chargers game and was utterly disgusted.
There are many bright spots for the future on this team. The emergence of the wide receiver group was a much welcome surprise, with Darrius Heyward - Bey (my boy), Denarius Moore, Jacoby Ford, and Louis Murphy. Carson Palmer has his moments of brilliance and ineptitude which with a full offseason to work with will hopefully even out. Darren McFadden needs to stay healthy and contribute weekly, because the offense is drastically different without him.
The defensive secondary needs a overhaul. I would look for the Raiders to draft with their two picks a linebacker and a safety, and be heavily involved in free agency. Code Black.

Went to see Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and was surprised at how good the movie was. Very clever and funny. It was my friend’s birthday http://thryst.tumblr.com/ and was glad to be there.
O, by the way, I have a serious crush on my friend. Not the birthday friend, another. Her competitive streak rivals mine, and her sense of humor continues to surprise me. But she doesn’t show any sign of feelings towards me. :( a quandary I continue to think about.

I went to the Golden State Warriors - New York Knicks game on Wednesday night over at Oracle Arena in Oakland. I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the Knicks; Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire couldn’t shoot their way out of a paper bag, and they desparately need good guard play from their current starters, Toney Douglas and Landry Fields, and they are not getting it. Douglas can’t run a team, he’s a streak shooter who should be coming off the bench and Fields is very turnover-prone.
Now to the Warriors, who I will give a lot of credit. Their defense has greatly improved over years past. Other than Stephen Curry (of whom I am a big fan of), their have been injury free, although they are only three games in. I will continue to maintain the Warriors’ bench is shaky. Brandon Rush has been a revelation, playing with determination and aggressiveness. I don’t know who Ish Smith is but he can play with quickness and with confidence. Klay Thompson has been overwhelmed by the stage. Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown (btw wtf warriors? Kwame Brown? REALLY?) are ok. The rest are just guys.
The Warriors go as far as Stephen Curry and Monta Ellis scores. 40 points between the two of them on a nightly basis puts the Warriors in position to win. Beating the Chicago Bulls and the Knicks just got them some attention. Let’s see how they handle it.
I was looking at the TV on Saturday at the Oakland Raiders - Kansas City Chiefs game, wondering what in the blue hell was going on. It was Groundhog Day, the Raiders choking away another lead in a game they MUST win. Then Richard Seymour blocks the field goal attempt from the Chiefs to end regulation and the Raiders had new life.
The defense, with a combination of penalities and big plays, was looking thoroughly inept the longer the game went so it was crucial the offense do something in overtime. Carson Palmer, after throwing two idiotic interceptions, settled down enough to hit Denarius Moore for a 61 yard touchdown and Darrius Heyward - Bey for a huge 57 yard gain in overtime.
Now the Raiders meet the San Diego Chargers in the season finale at the Oakland Coliseum. I will be there in person to hopefully, fingers and toes crossed, witness them reaching the playoffs. Code Black.

- Walked around Lake Merritt in Oakland eariler this week with a good friend. Did a lot of photography. My friend was way hyped and was glad to be able to accompany her.
- Why are newspapers getting so expensive? I love to read the newspapers, but getting the USA Today and the San Francisco Chronicle is such a pain at a dollar each.
